The project investigates the restrictions of traditional cutting methods and the potential for innovation by developing a process of freehand 'collage' pattern cutting and construction. This way of thinking encourages three-dimensional spatial awareness of design as a process. The making includes a reduction of waste which was achieved by active lay planning processes related to the freehand cut and a combination of the raw and established finishes used in tailoring.
